It is completely understandable that staying consistent with medications can be challenging, especially if you felt they weren't working as expected. However, unmanaged blood sugar levels put a heavy strain on your body. Because diabetes is a progressive condition, medications often need to be adjusted over time by a doctor to stay effective; stopping them entirely or taking them irregularly causes blood sugar spikes, which explains your current high reading.
Next Steps
Watch for Red Flag Symptoms: If you experience extreme, unquenchable thirst, frequent urination, sudden blurry vision, unexplained weight loss, nausea, or deep fatigue, please seek medical attention immediately. These can be signs of severely high blood sugar that requires urgent care.
Dietary Adjustment: While waiting for your appointment, strictly limit simple sugars, processed foods, juices, and refined flour (maida). Focus instead on high-fiber foods, vegetables, and lean proteins to help stabilize your levels.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help your kidneys flush out excess glucose from your bloodstream.
