Lasik treatment
Am wearing glasses for last 14 years and have sight -4 on both eyes. Stable for last 5 years. Is it worth to go for a LASIK surgery at this age. As I read in my reviews it the treatment lasts for max 6-7 years.

hello lasik is very good option to get rid of glasses Doctor will perform few tests (Schirmer test, Pentacam and Fundus examination) and if all tests are normal then you can go for lasik surgery without fear. Success rate of LASIK is over 96%. treatment lasts for life

You are already 30 yrs old & you are using -4 D both eyes ,you should know that every body who is emmetropic (zero power),has to use reading glasses for reading after 40 yrs which goes on increasing every two yrs till your cataract surgery in old age. Myopic around-3D, has lots  advantages after 40 yrs, you will never  need reading glasses after 40yrs if you don't undergo for refractive surgery. If you undergo LASIK or Smile, you will have to use reading glasses after 40 yrs through out your life changing every two yrs .Now you have to take decision whether you have to undergo refractive surgery or not , if you undergo  ,Smile is better & recent over LASIK, only 2.5 to 3 mm laser Incidence is required.

Hello...I understand your problem, I think you should know that LASIK is nowadays performed most commonly for the treatment of short-sighted and long-sighted vision problems, it serves as a good alternative for people dependant on spectacles and contact lenses. The effectiveness of the surgery in people with malnutrition and systemic illiness are not satisfactory. However precise might be a the surgery done to a person, improper postoperative management will cause infection. If you are still worried kindly consult a ophthalmologist for further management.
