Laproscopic hernia operat
I m undergoing laproscopic on inguinal and umbilical hernia operation. How will be post operative pain n how long it takes for recovery. Why catheter is used post operation for 24hrs ? Plz advise...

Most people who have laparoscopic hernia repair surgery are able to go home the same day. Recovery time is about 1 to 2 weeks. You most likely can return to light activity after 1 to 2 weeks. Strenuous exercise should wait until after 4 weeks of recovery. Studies have found that people have less pain after laparoscopic hernia repair than after open hernia surgery. As the repair is done under general anesthesia, catheter is put to monitor the urine output...
