Knee pain suddenly occurred can't reduce

Hi.my age 26.i can't able to climb the steps. my legs were suddenly getting pain while i am playing. since 20 days i am using medicine n heat n cool packs.but it can't reduce as normal. while climbing steps n sitting position ( folding) my knees n legs getting struck means hard in manner. can i do walking n cycling? Is my legs were working properly r not?
