At your age - knee is mostly due to patellar maltracking. Do VMO exercises. Are you suffering from any inflammatory arthritis- lupoxa - consult orthopaedic doctor there

You can take before or after food, it does not matter.

At 27, I may not reccomend lupoxa to you, still my suggestion is you get your self evaluated for knee pain.
Also focus on strengthening your Quadriceps muscles and apply ice packs locally.
