Hi My mother is having constant knee joint pain and constant swelling. Not able stand and walk properly.

It is possible that the symptoms are due to osteoarthritis, which is degenerative process of knee. For this, she needs to do quadriceps strengthening exercises, reduce weight, avoid squatting, take pain killers on sos basis, hot fomentation. She is also likely to need x-ray for identifying and staging the disease
