I have this condition called keratosis pilasis and I think it's because of genetics as other family members too have it. I consulted a dermatologist but he prescribes same medicine (Isotroin-20) for every skin condition. I took it for about 4 months when I was 18 along with few other ointments. But I couldn't see any positive outcome. Lately, the internet is filled with answers of exfoliating and moisturizing the skin. But I want to know any permanent fix to it. skin peeling or laser hair removal. It is mostly on shoulders and back

Hi, i don't think you need isotretinoin for keratosis Pilaris. Topical exfoliants and good moisturizer would suffice. The condition may last life long many times. There is no permanent cure. Even if you remove it once with any thing it may reccur.
