Joint at base of Big Toe
The skin at the joint on the base of my big toe has been red for a couple months, with pain only at times. Yesterday I landed on my foot wrong and I popped that knuckle. Now it is swollen all around that joint, I can hardly move my toe, shoes hurt because any type of pressure on it hurts and it is painful to walk.

As per your symptoms it's quite likely that you may be having hyperuricemia, get your blood uric acid level done and also get an x ray of the foot, for meanwhile take rest and ice fomentation, revert with reports to advice you on treatment.
