It seems like she has developed tm joint disorder.Missing teeth may b the cause of this problem. However other probable causes should also be eliminated before coming to the conclusion. Replacing missing teeth is always recommended which might help solving her tmj issue. It will also help increasing chewing efficiency. If she is in a good health condition dental implants may b the ideal solution to replace her missing teeth. Meanwhile she can start joint physiotherapy, muscle relaxants, local anti-inflammatory gel application to get symptomatic relief.
Hi there ....I think she has some TMJ problem.. You should consult a oral surgeon and a prosthodontist for this evaluation and further treatment...
Meanwhile u can give her some muscle relaxant...
Hi..yes it's true that when you don't have teeth on one side, you use other side. As a result you will TMJ problem. It must have happened same in your mother's case. First replace missing teeth followed by TMJ evaluation from dentist.
Missing teeth on one side and chewing from opposite side for long duration may affect musculature of jaws and cause myofacial pain dysfunction syndrome it will subside with combination treatment with replacement of teeth and muscle relaxant drugs and excercises ,
pain disappear gradually
It could be tmj isssue or third molar problem or incorrect jaw relation kindly see a dentist to diagnose and cure the prob
