Hello. Phototherapy for hyperbilirubinemia depends on many factors like gestation, any incompatibility, hemolytic anemias, birth weight, hrs of life etc. Best decision in this regard can be taken by your treating pediatrician . Initially bilirubin can rise due to increased hemolysis. My suggestion would be to trust your pediatrician and discuss your issues with him. Hope I helped you with your query.
