IVR injection or blood transfusion

Asked for Male, 54 Years

My mom has gone through uterus removal surgery on Wednesday but hb is very low around 8.5. So doc said that needs to be increased which can be done through ivr injection or blood transfusion. Please advise what should be given because currently blood donors are not available. Is giving IVR fine?
