IVF -progesterone injections
Can any one pls throw some light on the progesterone injections given post embryo transfer during an IVF cycle?Whether is it needed or is it painful since they are oil based and how many times do we need to take it?

They are pregnancy support injections and needed in all high risk cases ,cases above 30 yrs of age,IVF cases or cases of threatened abortion,yes they are a bit painful as they are oil based but they should not be ignored.You may use thrombophob ointment to reduce pain and lump if formed ,at the injection site .
