Is this normal after crown?
I have lower jaw burning pain under the ear and side of the neck since may. Went to dentist and he suspect a tooth root fracture in #46. Told me to extract it. Went to Endodontist for a second opinion. He told me that , he couldn't see any fracture. Did cold and bite test. My tooth is very sensitive to bite on one spot and to cold. So he told me to do RCT. I did rct in September. Did temporary crown from my dentist 2 weeks back. That tooth is very sore in the gum and tooth area since then. I went back for permanent crown this Monday. Dentist said , he still suspect there is a possibility of tooth fracture and want me to extract it. He did permanent crown and told me to wait for 2 weeks. If it doesn't improve, he want me to try extraction and see if it helps. Is it normal to have sore pain after the permanent crown? I am not biting or chewing on that tooth yet. I am using only the opposite side. Can we chew on the crowned tooth? Do I need extraction? Have same pain in lower jaw since may.

Hello ........ur root canal treatment seems perfectly done.....can't see any fracture either Kindly check two things for me 1. When u close ur mouth....both ur molars are touching at the same time or the root canal treated tooth side z touching first?? 2. Hv u experienced sensitivity first on tht side n thn gradual increase in pain? According to my daignosis as per gvn information I feel ur bite z imbalanced due to crown n just need to adjust ur bite
Next Steps
1. use ice compression on tht side ...it will help relive pain n stress build up within tissues 2. consult near by dentist n ask dr to adjust ur bite as I think ur treated side z touching first
Health Tips
try n eat only soft food....juices....till u get ur bite corrected
