Fistula can be treated completely in Ayurveda. For this problem; Ayurveda recommends Ksharsutra treatment. In this treatment; Ksharsutra - a medicated thread is placed in Fistula tract. Medicine released from Ksharsutra debrides the Fistula tract and induces healing. This medicine works for 5 to 7 days. So this threads needs to be changed with a new Ksharsutra at week or 10 days interval. No. of Ksharsutra changes required for complete healing of Fistula depends on depth, direction and branching pattern of Fistula tract. It is observed that Fistula heals @ 0.5 to 1 cm per sitting. So for a fistula tract of 3 cm length usually 4-5 weekly sittings are required. No hospitalization or bed rest is required during this treatment. For further assistance and appointment please call the reception at Sushruta Ano Rectal Institute.
