Is spotting considered as day1 of period

Asked for Female, 28 Years

Hi, This month I wil be going for ivf after 2 Failed iui. Last month I was taking contraception pill (ovral l).Yesterday I thought I got my periods but I was jus spotting, but flow started from today. My query is do I have to consider yesterday as day 1 even though I was jus spotting as my doc has asked me to visit her on day 2 for basal scan and blood test.. Usually I get periods the same day I see spotting so I am little confused.. Kindly advise..

The day you started spotting is counted as day 1 of your period. And baseline scan can be done any day between day 1 to day 5 of the periods .
