It contains camphor so is it safe to consume this to relieve cold? I read on google consumption of camphor with mouth is poisonous.

Unlikely since it is approved by authorities. Better to take a guidance of an ayurvedic practitioner for correct dosages. It is a very old preparation and had there been any significant side effects, it would have had rolled back. Anything in excess or in incorrect dosages could be harmful. So do not indulge in self medication.
