Is it ok to take multiple CT scans?harm?
I have lower jaw pain under ear and neck for 8 months now. Went to dentist, oral surgeon, physician, endodontist, tmj specialist. Taken multiple xray say dentist office. Been to 5 dentist office and then dental x-rays there since June. Had 3 dental CBCT scan so far since June. One dental CBCT taken for a tooth in June, another Dental CBCT taken for TMJ in September, last dental CBCT taken 2 weeks back for a tooth. No proper diagnosis yet. My physician want me to take CT scan of neck soft tissue with contrast to check my lower jaw and neck pain. I have mild tenderness and sore pain. Have some lump spots which hurts to touch and looks mildly swollen. Can I take another CT scan now? I have taken 3 dental CBCT and many dental x-rays so far in the last 8 months. Is it ok to get CT scan now?I also have an MRI brain imaging order from neurologist for this issue. My physician said, if I do CT neck scan, no need of mri imaging. So,she want me to do CT neck scan. is it harmful to have many CT?

According to your present condition you need to get diagnosis for whats going on first to you right now don't think about any radiation exposure because you have done everything but still not even get it what was their . so be calm and follow your physician & neurologist . i would like to advice do follow neurologist first than physician. because it seems like its may be nerve pain which is result from nerve injury.
