Is it discharge or Pus?
I undergone surgery 3 weeks back for Fistula (Laser), fissurectomy, sphincterotomy, drainage of perianal abscess. I do daily clean up via Betadine solution with medicated gauge and then apply inside betadine ointment or anosum, do 3-4 times warm sitz bath, underwent 1st week with zostrum and then 2 weeks antibiotics. While cleaning around the anal verge with gauge and betadine , I still see this white viscous sticky liquid. Is it discharge or abscess or pus? Am I having recurrence? What is the solution if it is pus or discharge? Can I get it diagnostically tested in a path lab to confirm if it is discharge or Pus? Kindly suggest. Attaching picture for look.

There is pus on the gauze piece. What I’d advice is that you still continue good dressing, a high protein diet and excellent hygiene of that area. Perianal Abscesses and Fistulas take time to heal even post surgery. Do get a clinical examination also done by the operating general surgeon.
