Asked for Female, 25 Years

Ever since i started menstruating, my period has always been irregular. I could go for 3 months without having my periods sometimes 2 months. i used birth control pills from May 2016 to around about may 2018. The reason i stopped them is because i want to try for a baby.Since my period in June 2018 to today,my period has been regular. I just want to understand what might have triggered this change of events. Also,I would like to be advised of the diet to take for fertility purposes. Thanks
