CURRENTLY TAKING VALIUM 5MG AFTER WAKING UP. AND ATIVAN 2MG, OPIPRAMOL 50MG AT NIGHT. We need to have a long term regime for tapering benzodiazepines so that withdrawals are minimised and also evaluation for underlying problems is necessary so that appropriate treatment can be initiated and chances of relapse decreased.

while tapering benzodiazepine in dependant patients one must not taper off too quickly and patient should first be shifted to equivalent dose of long acting benzodiazepine such as librium. Then reduce dose by not more than 10% every 7-10 days.
Next Steps
you should consult a psychiatrist.
