Intestinal tuberculosis can be of two types, ulcerative and fibrotic. In fibrotic type the intestine becomes thickened and causes narrowing of intestine and lead to obstruction. In ulcerative type when the ulcers heal, they cause stricture, which also causes narrowing of the intestine leading to obstruction.
