Insomnia - sleeplessness
Sir/Madam, My father is 58 years old, he has diabetes and hypertension and hence taking insulin and telmikind amh. Now he is suffering from insomnia also. I came to know that melatonin is best and safe for insomnia. Whether melatonin is suitable for him, if yes dose may be recommended, if not, any other solution may be given please.

Hi, Sleep disturbance are quite common in elderly and especially with chronic disorders by diabetes and hypertension. Sometimes medications can also disturb sleep. Yes, melatonin is used as one of the management in insomnia, but should be taken under the supervision of a doctor.
