Ingested dettol
Accidentally drank half a sip of dilluted dettol (70% dettol and 30% water). Went to the ER and they said it was not a problem. It's been 36 hours and I feel nauseous after having eaten a meal but that's all. Is it a cause for concern?

Hi, a small sip of diluted Dettol is generally not dangerous, especially after ER clearance.  Mild nausea now is common from anxiety or mild irritation and should ease soon.  Eat lightly and stay hydrated.  Feel free to consult for further guidance.

you accidentally drank half a sip of diluted Dettol (70% Dettol and 30% water). Because the quantity was extremely small (half a sip) and it has already been 36 hours since the incident, you are well past the window for severe or acute chemical poisoning. Feeling nauseous only after eating a meal is very common after ingesting a small amount of household antiseptic. Dettol contains chloroxylenol, which can cause mild, temporary irritation to the sensitive lining of your stomach, leading to simple indigestion or a sick feeling after meals
Next Steps
Drink plenty of plain water and clear fluids throughout the day. Increasing your water intake helps naturally flush out any tiny residual traces from your digestive system and dilutes stomach acids that cause post-meal nausea.
Health Tips
To check how your stomach is recovering after the ER clearance, review your post-meal nausea patterns, and provide a gentle, safe prescription to settle your digestion completely, please book a full consultation session via my Practo profile."
