Hi Sometimes reinfection occurs in root canal treated tooth...it may be because of either improperly done RCT or residual infection or recurring infection...since the infection is chronic there are chances of intra oral or extra oral swelling...in such cases you should not neglect...treatment protocol is always first non surgical re rct if still infection persists surgical treatment if at all nothing works lastly extraction of the tooth... Don't worry nowadays rerct is becomes more predictable because of better understanding of failure reasons through CBCT, treatment modality with intracanal medicaments, intracanal antibiotic pastes etc... Kindly visit Endodontist and get the necessary investigations done as early as possible before infection gets worsen
