Abusive family would impair the child's emotional, social & intellectual development. The child also learns to become aggressive with his peers & in future. Some can become anxious & depressed. Look for signs of sexual abuse.
Next Steps
Identify the abusive parent & exposure of the child to that parent minimised or negated.
Health Tips
Look for alcohol or any other substance abuse in either of the parents. Relatives with adaptive skills may be roped in to help the child. Need to report to Child abuse centers if the situation at home cannot be corrected or the child is abused beyond repair.
