IBS & CT scan.

Asked for Male, 25 Years

Sir /madam , doctor had Said to go for CT enterography (IBD protocol) instead I went for CT enterography so doctor was not sure about the report!! He said let's wait for 2 more months to get another CT enterography (IBD protocol) ! I have read in Internet that having CT scan is dangerous . It causes cancer !! So should I go for CT scan is it safe ! If I go how many months should I wait. And what are IBD symptoms. My all reports blood tests , stool culture & even colonoscopy was normal.

CT SCAN DOES have radiation exposure but that is not that high so as to cause cancer. Cancer risk occurs after much much higher dose of radiation. The decision of how long to wait for ct ibd protocol depends on how severe are your SYMPTOMS. If SYMPTOMS allow then wait and watch can be done. Also for ibd there are are certain stool and blood tests which help im making DIAGNOSIS.
