There is a catch in it.
If you have regular periods and you have intercourse on day 10 or 11 of the period and have i pill after that , i pill will change your uterus lining and pattern of mucus but it will do nothing to the ovum because Ovulation has not occurred.
Now , after 2 days you have intercourse again , the ovum had escaped from the first pill. Now it will have full potential to create a mischief.
