Jock itch and pubic lice may not be the signs of HIV. They’re common, unrelated infections; For reassurance, you can do routine HIV testing.

Namastey The conditions you’ve described—Tinea cruris and Pediculosis pubis—are not indicators of HIV. Jock itch is a common superficial fungal infection related to moisture, sweating, and friction. Pubic lice are caused by tiny parasites transmitted mainly through close physical or sexual contact. Both are localized skin conditions and can occur in otherwise healthy individuals; they do not mean that you have HIV infection. Regarding your unprotected exposure in September 2024, these later skin issues (in 2025) are not linked to that event in a cause-and-effect manner. HIV does not present as jock itch or pubic lice. It is understandable to feel anxious, but medically, these conditions do not serve as signs or proof of HIV infection.

Health Tips
Keep the genital area clean and dry to prevent fungal infections. Avoid sharing personal items like towels or undergarments, and practice safe and hygienic sexual habits. Stay informed but avoid overthinking or linking unrelated conditions, as this often leads to unnecessary stress. A calm, informed, and preventive approach is the best way to maintain long-term sexual and skin health. Thank you
