I have a bloated stomach with diarrhoea for the past two days and it doesn't go away despite taking over the counter gas medications. I also have lost all appetite and have the sensation of a full stomach at all times. I am also sometimes woken up in the middle of the night with stomach pain.

You probably have gastroenteritis. You need probiotic medications like Bifilac or Vyzylac along with PPI tablets for 5 days. Do consult a doctor in person, preferably a surgeon to see if you require antibiotics too. Drink plenty of water and eat bland food for 4 to 5 days.
Understanding Your Symptoms
Your symptoms suggest acute gastroenteritis (stomach flu) or food-related issues, which are causing your digestive system to be irritated and inflamed.
Immediate Management
- Drink small sips of water frequently
- Consider oral rehydration solutions (ORS)
- Aim for clear or light-colored urine
**
Next Steps
Visit a doctor immediately if you develop:
- Fever above 101°F (38.3°C)
- Severe abdominal pain
- Blood in stools
- Signs of dehydration
- Symptoms persisting beyond 3-4 days
- Significant weight loss
If the gas medications haven't helped, and if symptoms continue for another day, please schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist for proper evaluation and treatment.
