I am Gay. Is it a Mental Health problem?
I am gay and I came forward about my sexual orientation to my mom and her reaction was bursting into laughter. After still being on a serious note she took me seriously and advised me to get a metal therapy session as it's a mental health issue and asked me to stay quiet about this to the rest of my family. What are your thoughts on this? Can anyone explain it to her so that she can come to terms with my sexual orientation?

It might take some time as a mother to accept whatever you say... Do not try to insist or drag it... Leave it like that. She might accept eventually. Wait until then....
