Hypothyroidism
Hi Mam/Sir, My finacee, age 28, digonosed with hypothryoid in April 2023, after consulting doctor he gave one medicine and said to take it for 2 months. When medicines got over she  did thyroid test again and in june her thyroid tsh levels came into normal range but since she stopped taking medicines she again getting thyroid issues which she was having before taking medicines like being lethargic, over sleeping etc. When again consulted to doctor today he said those medicines has to be taken lifelong and can't be left untaken a single day. Now she is getting very concious that she has to take this medicine for her whole life. I need to know, what are the alternatives available that can be done in order to avoid taking medicines for her whole life? Medicinde name is thyronorm 50mg as I remember not sure though. Any help please? Thanks and Regards

Thyroid medicine always life long . Please never stopped this . Test repeat after every  100 days .and consultant doctor regularly every month. Thanks Dr R S SAINI

Thyronorm needs to be taken lifelong.There is no other alternative.however its safe and usually not problematic. If the medicine is not taken regularly, serious issues can occur
