You should first see a psychiatrist in person and discuss your problem with him. H e will study your case and arrive at a diagnosis. He will decide on the treatment program. This may involve medicines also. However you can discuss with him whether your particular case will respond to hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy is not indicated in all cases. Deeply ingrained fears from the forgotten past may respond to it. What I feel is you should go through personality development programs such as the 'Art of Living' of Ravi Shankar. Regular Pranayama and meditation followed by positive auto-suggestions may help you. But a visit to the psychiatrist will stand to your advantage.
