Only by single reading you are not labelled as Hypertension. Pulse rate is also important. Blood pressure in both arms is also taken.
There are battery of tests which are taken like
Serum Creatinine, electrolytes, urine RM,ECG, TSH etc to be customized as per individual patient so that one can cause of Hypertension and end organ damage. After all these consideration treatment is started. There are various groups of drugs for Hypertension, it is started after taking consideration of above things.
