I was operated for hydrocephalus and after complete recovery I had alcohol ( about half a mug of beer). Post this, I started getting problems that I used to face earlier. The constant hydrocephalus hangover persists. Is there a problem or will it fade away as soon as the alcohol is removed from my body? My shunt is working fine and CT scan shows no damage. Please provide remedies to cure this condition.

Hi, alcohol will not cause any harm to stent that present in csf drainage site. But better to avoid taking alcohol. If you are a smoker avoid smoking. If you are feeling problems as experienced earliar indicates some problem in csf drainage. Consult neurosurgeon once.take healthy diet, avoid outside food. If any cold ,fever occurs consult doctors immediately.
