78 yr old female- Hydrocephalus (NPH)
My mother 78 years old and wheelchair bound with memory issues is diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus and is advised surgery for a shunt. Please help me understand if this is safe to proceed with. Thanks

What are her other symptoms? NPH is a diagnosis of exclusion. Similar symptoms will be seen in other conditions like Parkinson's disease. if it's a diagnosed case of NPH  after a trial of anti Parkinson medications, then the treatment  is shunt procedure. Shunt has its own risks and complications. Contact online for a detailed evaluation.
