HSV and Herpes Zoster
What is the difference between HSV and Herpes zoster? If a person have herpes zoster and if he tests for hsv igg will he be reactive or non reactive?

HSV and the virus causing herpes zoster both belong to herpes virus family. But the test for HSV doesnt cross react with other viruses, so even if you have herpes zoster, your IgG for HSV will not be possitive unless you have been infected in the past with HSV.
