Looks like an ulcer. As you said, if it's been there for 6 months, definitely you need to get a consultation. Long standing ulcers shouldn't be left unattended.
Next Steps
Get a dentist appointment as soon as possible.

Do you have any tobacco habit? Or smoking? Please get the teeth filled and the sharp edges get it smoothened. You can use hexigel over it for a week and observe it iif it subsides. If it doesn't subside even after this see your nearest dental centre or a dental hospital.
Health Tips
See a dental hospital if the same doesn't subside after doing the above

Hello, this looks like an ulcer. You can apply gel that may soothen the pain. The missing teeth should also be addressed as the sharp edge of adjacent tooth might be the cause of chronic ulcer. However, as this is a long standing ulcer since 6 months,I would recommend you get a consult for it so that it can be treated in a right and timely way.
Next Steps
Consultation followed by replacement of missing tooth
Health Tips
Try avoiding hot and spicy food to decrease the discomfort it might be causing.
