I am a 43 year old lady. Since the last one year, on and off, I have been having numbness in my left leg while I am sleeping. Earlier it wasn't that often but now it happens every single night and it then disturbs my sleep. What could be the cause of this numbness?

hi..Numbness is most often caused by damage, irritation or compression of nerves. A single nerve branch, or several nerves,Certain diseases, such as diabetes, which can damage the longest, most sensitive nerve fibers (such as those going to your feet), can also cause numbness. I would advise that you get your sugar levels, thyroid and ur vitamins checked and consult a physician who after reviewing the reports well advise u on the best course of treatment
