How much is rectal prolapse surgery recovery time

My father who is 63 years old had a rectal prolapse surgery just 3 days back. Today he might get discharge from hospital. How much is the recovery time after prolapse surgery for his age? Also what are care should be taken at home after surgery? Will he be given complete bed rest?
