I am a 54-year-old male and I recently underwent an Angioplasty surgery, around a month ago. I have a doubt regarding this. A tube was put into my heart to keep the arteries from narrowing down. How long does the stent in the heart last? Should it be replaced every now and then? How many surgeries will I have to undergo after this? Or is this a permanent solution? What is the life expectancy of someone with a stent in the heart?

Stent will be there life long, only precautions needed is there should not be deposition in this stent for that, cholesterol diet should be restricted and regular medication to be taken
