Mental history is most important. But different homeopathic doctor prescribe on different levels. The medicine can be prescribed on physical levels also if there are peculiar symptoms present.
Some ask detailed history.
Many prescribe patent products combinations and more than one medicines at a time.

Homoeopathy is science which considers there is mind body co-relation for any disease but if case is acute like acute fever, coryza etc.priority is given to physical symptoms than mental symptoms . If your complaints are chronic then mental status must be considered while selecting medicine.
