Hi there, A detailed medical and psychiatric history is needed in every case. It’s necessary to find the details of symptoms. There is also a need to conduct a proper MSE to come to a final diagnosis. Well as per your information, I hope your son is under the care of a mental health professional. And I hope he is having proper dosages of the drugs prescribed. If the symptoms are not controlled by certain medications, others can be tried.Be optimistic about him. There is also need for the psychological interventions which are used in OCDs. As the parents, Do encourage the patient to get the medications timely.Do discuss the problems with the treating professional. Do encourage your son even if shows little improvement. OCD can be managed now a days effectively with latest medications and techniques. Be optimistic.
