The examination done to determine the prostate size is by digital rectal exam (DRE) where a gloved, lubricated finger into the rectum and palpate the prostate to check the size of the prostate and feel for abnormalities. This cannot be done to yourself and should be done by a trained professional who is able to determine the normal and abnormal findings. I would strongly recommend you to do this by a doctor and to do a prostate specific antigen or an ultrasound.
