Home Pregnancy test info
Im 10 days late for my periods. Did a home pregnancy test a few days ago. It came positive. Are the home pregnancy test kit results always accurate? Am I really pregnant? This is my first time. Thank you in advance for your help doctor.

Thank you for your question. Home pregnancy tests are manufactured to the same standards as the ones you get in clinics so if the test is positive you should assume you are pregnant. You would benefit from seeing your gynaecologist for further evaluation examination and an ultrasound scan to determine the location and exact gestational age of the pregnancy. If you intend to continue you also need to be taking folic acid regularly to protect the baby's neural tract. Best wishes
