Hit the ankle with bike side stand

Hi doctor, My husband got hit by the bike side stand on the ankle yesterday. It wasn't paining that time. During the course of the day, the pain increased while he was leading a normal day in office. By evening it was little inflammation and the pain is a lot. Please guide me what is the best solution for this. Thanks, Tarika
