Hello Doctor,
I’m a 25-year-old male and recently completed a 7-day crash diet that was very low in calories and almost no carbs. Today, my blood test showed a high
uric acid level of 8.7 mg/dL (normal <7.0). My
kidney function is normal, and I have no major symptoms except for occasional mild finger pain.
I’m concerned if this spike in uric acid could be due to the crash diet and dehydration. Is this condition likely temporary and reversible with lifestyle changes? What steps should I take now to bring my uric acid back to normal and avoid complications?
Thank you for your advice.
