High Grade Fever
My son who is 8 months old is having fever around 102 which did not come down with paracetamol so doc advised to use meftal p n sponging. The fever still comes n hoes bit low with sponging. He did not givd any other medics as hd said there are no other symptoms asked to come back if situation is same after 2 days. Kindly advise is wait n watch the correct option here of shall I consult another doc... Also can I give the medicine meftal every 6hrs is it safe as fever comes after 6 hrs... Lastly what is the reason for the fever

Only presentation is high grade fever with no other complaints, most likely it is viral fever. Monitor your child's temperature every 3 hrly. Give Meftal 6 hrly and sponging if required. No need to add any medicines. watch for any new symptoms. If fever stays for next 48 hrs, get a CBC and CRP done.

Meftal can be given 6 hourly. If conditions of children is improving, then follow advice of your doctor. If not, take 2nd opinion of any child specialist online or offline., he may order some test and will advise accordingly.
