My 16 year old son suffering from high fever (104°)and headache since 6 days. Yesterday I went to doctor. His CBC and Urine report is normal. Maleria and typhoid tests are negative. Platelets count is 1.75. SGOT 65 and SGPT 70. Doctor gave him Dolo 650 (thrice a day) and Mahacef plus (twice a day). But still his fever is not coming down. After taking Dolo it goes down but exactly after 4 hours temp reaches to 104°. What to do? What may be the reason of increased SGOT and SGPT.

Test for malaria becomes positive only when parasites are present in blood that is when patients is having high grade fever and rigors (chills), Test for typhoid is more accurate when clot culture is done rather than Widal test so though the blood investigation report shows the negative results there might be possibilities of typhoid, malaria and viral infection. Mahacef is already started by your doctor along with Dolo. Antimalarial can be started empirically like Tab. Lariago 250 mg.
