Hello Dr, I used to get high bp whenever I eat red meat , 156/ 85. Out of anxiety I took bp medicine. But later week my bp was good 130/80. So should I take bp medicine or is there any problem in taking occasional bp medicine.

It sounds like your blood pressure rises temporarily after eating red meat, then returns to normal later. This kind of fluctuation can occur due to a combination of factors, including salt and fat content, as well as stress or anxiety that activates the bodyâs stress hormones.
Red meat, especially if processed or salty, can lead to a short-term increase in blood pressure in some people. Anxiety or checking your BP repeatedly can also push the numbers higher temporarily.
You should not take BP medicine occasionally on your own, as that can cause sudden drops or irregular readings. It is safer to record your BP at the same time every day for a week, avoid red meat and salty foods during that period, and share the readings with your doctor to decide if you truly have hypertension.
