My one week old new born baby sometimes has hiccups lasting for an hour. How to stop hiccups or allow it to stop on its own?
Please reply.

Hello good afternoon first of all congratulations to u .your motherhood journey will be full of joy excitement but at the same time it will be tiring and exhausting with lot of worries ! You may feel like you are on roller coaster but once you will understand ur baby’s need , normal pattern of babies everything will be fine . Getting hiccough is normal and natural in newborn . It’s mostly due to excessive air swallow during breastfeeding , crying . So first of all make sure you are breastfeeding with good latch and also try to recognise hunger cues of baby . Burp your baby after each and every feed . If this is not helping then try to burp after 5-10 min of breastfeeding . Usually no any medication required if you follow these precautions . For more guidance consult Pediatrician thank you take care

Hiccups is normal in newborn nothing to worry ,it's quite common to get hiccups after feeding...No need to give anything for it.You can allow it to stop it on its own
